My name is Larry Brown, and it is a pleasure for me to serve our students, as the superintendent of schools for the School District of Monroe. On July 1, 2007 I assumed my duties as superintendent after serving as high school principal for five years and then being appointed superintendent for the last six years in Manawa, Wisconsin.

I started my teaching career in Pine Island Minnesota where I served as an industrial technology instructor and football coach. I moved on to Janesville, Iowa again as an industrial technology instructor and head football coach. I then took a ten year leave from public education to pursue a career as a college football coach serving in that capacity for Lakeland College, St Ambrose University and the University of South Dakota.
I then returned to public education as a CAD / pre engineering instructor for the Bettendorf and Pleasant Valley, Iowa schools. Serving in that capacity for 4 years I was then appointed as an associate principal / at-risk coordinator for Pleasant Valley until moving to Wisconsin. I hold a BS degree from Winona State University, a MS degree from Western Illinois University and completed a superintendent certification program at the University of Wisconsin – Superior.

I am extremely proud of all of the educational opportunities we provide for our diverse student population. Our Virtual School is a premier example of our commitment to provide educational opportunities designed to enhance student achievement and provide a level of flexibility that meet the educational needs of a wide range of our students. We have an extraordinary staff that provides personal service and attention to all of our students, resulting in an exceptional learning experience.
